Recycle Pumpkins for Christmas Decor

Don't toss out those pumpkins just yet! Instead recycle them into your Christmas decor. I love this idea from Southern Living. I'm contemplating this for my front door but haven't decided quite yet.

My friend, Mandy, ran with this idea last Christmas. Super cute!

You might also consider painting smaller pumpkins gold or silver and adding them into your holiday decor inside. This is another way to stretch your decorating dollars this time of year!

What other non-traditional items do you use in your Christmas decor?

Love this idea. My girlfriend stacked 3 together yesterday & made a snowman out of hers. SO cute! I love the idea. I only had 1 left since we carved ours this year & was trying to think of what I could do with it. I like the monogram idea ... I think I'll be fixing mine this afternoon. Thanks for the inspiration. :)

I am seeing this mesh all over blogs for decor. Where can I buy it because apparently I have never noticed it in the store before.

Anita - you can get it at florists shops and sometimes in antique/flea market booths for around $10-$20 a roll.

I have one more house to decorate this week. After that I may have some extra rolls that I will load to etsy. Check back with me later in the week. You can also check out my tutorial on how I use it around my door - http://bit.ly/hftlom!

That's such a neat idea. I only had a small pumpkin and never got around to carving it however he's going to be cut up and made into pumpkin spice cookies for christmas! Still love the idea of painting them for christmas... pretty cool.
