May Door Decor: Trash to Treasure

It was stormy Friday and Saturday here so I didn't hit up any good sales. But I did manage to turn a little trash into treasure today. Remember the white plastic mirror I found a few months back for $6? I shopped my mom's home to find the chicken-wire basket because I had a {bird}-brainy idea...

What if I cut the back bones and half of the bottom out of the basket...

And then bent and rigged it altogether with brown pipe cleaners.

Are you seeing the vision? It's OK if you are not because I ALMOST kerchunked the project at this point!

But then I added three of my favorite things in this world, moss, daisies, and ribbon...

And voila! Another cute, cheap, and fairly easy door decor project! Why is it not hanging on my door, you ask? I share that story in this post...

Hope you have a fabulous first week in May! It's a busy week at the Southern Fried home - Cinco de Mayo, wedding anniversary, Iron Man release (heh), and Mother's Day - oh my!

What's going on with you this week?

Really cute!! I found the same mirror awhile back. I was going to use it as a mirror in my DDs room, until my cat took a flying leap across the table and broke it. I ended up making a tack board out of it.
