Finally got my door decor up. I usually go all out with pumpkins and mums. The above picture was actually taken a couple of years back. This year I am trying to be more budget conscious. I usually end up treating the mums like annuals and toss them along with the pumpkins. So this year I decided to dress up the door with things I can re-use instead of tossing.
This is where I am today - again a little funky on the picture but wanted to try and capture the nighttime effect.
My ferns got a little battered when Gus and Ike rolled into town. I'm hoping to nurse them back to health by spring.
This is a close-up without the funky glare. I've seen the grapevine around the door and wanted to give it a try. For less than the price of one mum, I chose instead to buy 3 strands of harvest lights. I already had the grapevine - just soaked it in water to make it easier to work with. My husband isn't thrilled with this look but he got out voted by BBC and me!
Close-up of the wreath - recycled. You can see it was very simple in the past. I had a credit at Hobby Lobby so I bought the pumpkins at half-price and spent less than $5 out of pocket to change it up. Love it!
Isn't this a cute little mat? One of my favorite stores in town is the Full Moon. They have beautiful products including Gail Pittman pottery, TAG products, and other whimsical decor for the seasons. They have a downstairs clearance area appropriately named the Half Moon. I picked up this thick coconut fiber rug a month or so ago for just $12! Add one big pumpkin from Sam's and the Jack-O-Lantern I've had for a couple of years and you have my fall door decor 2008!
